The Souss Massa Region organized onThursday, March 15, 2018 in Agadir a conference on "Advanced Regionalization in Morocco as a lever for sustainable development", in which took part elected officials, local authorities, academics, researchers and associative actors.
The opening session featured the addresses of Mr. Wali of Souss Massa Region, the Vice-President of the Regional Council Souss Massa, the President the University Ibn Zohr and the Director of Publication of the encyclopedia "Cahiers de la Régionalisation au Maroc".
The conference was also an opportunity to present this encyclopedia, which highlights the Moroccan model as a mechanism of administration of local affairs that aims to reduce social disparities, to fight against poverty and to establish a grassroots democracy. It also charts the economic and territorial development experienced by the 12 regions of the Kingdom as well as the challenges facing the implementation of regionalization.
