The development of the economic sector focuses mainly on the following pillars:

Tourism Sector:

• Upgrading of hotels;
• Enhancement of the tourism offer of the hinterland;
• The establishment of a tourism SDR ( Société de Développement Régional) for the management of the sector's structuring projects;
• Promotion of the destination and strenghtening the airline connectivity;
• Setting up a permanent exhibition center;

Fisheries and agriculture sectors:

• Development of Aquaculture;
• Achievements of Haliopole ( Haleutic pole) and Agropole as flagship projects of the Region;
• Construction of a regional wholesale market;
• Development of a shipyard cluster;
• Operationalization of the Chtouka desalination plant.
