The Regional Council Souss Massa set up in March 2017 its Regional Development Plan as stipulated by the organic law 111-14. This important strategic project, led by McKinsey & Company management consulting firm, is based on a participatory approach involving all stakeholders such as representatives of local authorities, regional administrations, civic society and the private sector.
The main lines of this RDP are:
- Social and human development: through the reintegration of marginalized areas and the reduction of social gaps between the various regional communes;
- Economic development: through the revitalization of vital sectors (tourism, agriculture and fisheries) while encouraging the creation of new sectors of development (offshoring, industry, renewable energies ...);
- Valorization of the architectural and cultural heritage: by strengthening the cultural outreach of the region, mainly with the strategic positioning of Souss Massa as a gateway to southern Morocco and Africa;
- Protection of natural resources and environmental balances: through an efficient management of water resources, the fight against water scarcity and desertification, the protection of biodiversity and the regional ecological system ...
